Project 1

Project 1

Multinational Tyre Manufacturer

AES was engaged in developing, project managing, installation, and commissioning of a new boilerhouse facility for the supply of steam to the client’s tyre manufacturing plant. The client had previously received steam from a facility using electrode boilers and heavy fuel oil fired boilers. The project was undertaken by AES significantly reduced the emissions from the plant (SOx), reduced the cost of steam and dramatically reduced the operational risk (outage risk as a result of electrical interruption) at the site.

The project included the design, installation and commissioning of 3 off 10 ton per hour coal-fired boilers with coal feed system, submerged ash system with overhead storage hopper and feed water system. A critical factor in the execution of the project was the continued supply of steam to the client’s production facility, and this entailed installation and operation of one boiler with temporary coal and ash systems, to enable final commissioning of the other two units. AES also assisted the client with the management of the civils works for the project.

Following commissioning, AES has been operating the steam generation facility and ancillaries to provide the client’s steam requirements.
